KIDS at The Gate is one of the most important ministries at The Gate.
Our mission for KIDS at The Gate is to provide an environment where kids of all ages can encounter God. We want the character of God, the ways of God and the love of God to be real and understood by our kids. It is our desire to partner with parents as their children begin the lifelong journey of discipleship.
Safety and Security: Your child’s safety is our utmost concern. Therefore, in order to provide a safe and secure environment for our children, all children must be registered. First time attendees should register their children at the Welcome Desk in the upstairs Lobby. There your child will receive a name tag and parents will receive a receipt with the child’s quiet call number on it. This receipt must be presented to teachers as children are picked up after the Worship Gathering.
Toddlers (18 months – 3)
The Gate toddlers experience a safe and loving environment for creative play. Our curriculum is designed to communicate a “Big” thought for the month, which reveals the character of God and helps to lay a foundation in their young hearts. We utilize kinesthetic activities, crafts, bible memory and learning methods to ensure children are engaged and experiencing the “big” idea in every area, from free play to group time. Our team recognizes that we are helping to build a foundation of Christ and supporting parents as they look to impart the truths of Christ to their littles. The truth of God’s word is declared over our young ones through scripture, song and prayer.
Pre-K through K (ages 3-5)
This energetic and curious age group enjoys creative play with age appropriate stations and activities in a safe and loving environment. We carry our “Big” thought into our Pre-K classes, to ensure children are learning and experiencing a consistent concept in an age appropriate presentation, so siblings and families can reinforce these lessons at home. Our Pre-K class includes intentional movement, character development and life application that is relevant to this age group. Our team seeks to create an atmosphere of discovery, instruction and exploration, including times of worship and prayer.
Elementary (Grades 1-5)
Through teaching, prayer, worship, creative arts and hands-on instruction, our elementary aged children are learning the truth of God’s word and how it applies to their lives every day. This age group experiences both small group and large group activities and application that reinforce the lesson. So many kids start a relationship with God during this age group, we want to give them all the tools and resources to help grow that relationship in healthy ways. The Sunday morning experience includes group games, creative powerful lessons and worship. We believe worshiping together as a family is important, so this age group remains upstairs with their families for worship every 4th Sunday, and they remain upstairs for the entire service on every 5th Sunday (about 4 times per year).
Although students in grade 6 are officially part of our LEGACYouth middle school ministry, they are also offered the option of serving monthly in our other classrooms as a youth assistant. Training is provided prior to assigning them to a classroom, and parental consent and agreement to our expectations and policies is required. Discipleship and mentoring is offered as they learn how to be a leader and serve with grace. For more information about students in 6th grade, see the LEGACYouth section of our website.

If you have a child in the youth group, we encourage you to join us for parent prayer the 2nd Wednesday of each month during Youth Group, 6:30 – 8:00 PM. It’s so important to us to hear from our parents what they are sensing from God over our group. This is a place to intentionally stop, and pray together over each others kids. Led by Julie Burnette firstname.lastname@example.org
Since LEGACYouth’s first year in 2011, we have been living God’s dream: reaching in, reaching out and reaching up in engaging His presence. Our founding verse is based out of Luke 8, which charges the body of Christ to live as “good seeds” seasoning the world with the hope of Jesus Christ. The passage is also the inspiration behind our tagline, “Your Life Speaks”, launched in 2012.

In large measure, as it goes with men so it goes with marriages, families, church, neighborhoods, business, and society. The Gate recognizes God’s call upon men to lead with love, service, and self-sacrifice, and so we consider Men’s Ministry an important facet of life together as a church.
Through monthly breakfasts, retreats, service projects, and more, Men’s Ministry at The Gate reflects our desire for men to forge strong relationships with God and each other, to walk in spiritual freedom, and to be change-makers in their spheres of influence. We seek to be bold in the expression of the faith we have in Jesus, to pray with vigor, to see miracles, and for men and their marriages, families, businesses, and communities to come under God’s saving reign, infused with and transformed by His presence.

Worship Ministry at The Gate goes beyond the mere presence of an Arts Community Gathering and requires a high level of regular and ongoing commitment. Service on one of our Worship Teams is open to any musician or vocalist that has completed Starting Gate and exhibits an appropriate level of skill and proficiency, and is willing to commit to a regular schedule of preparation and weekly rehearsal participation.
